Every living creature has a purpose which they were created for. Until one discovers their purpose, like fish out of water, they will struggle with a sense of unfulfillment no matter how much they achieve doing something contrary to their purpose.
The video below illustrates how different creatures are uniquely programmed by the creator to function naturally and effortlessly in their purpose. Whereas, human beings (though God’s most dynamic creation), struggle to discover their unique purpose;

Why you must discover your purpose:
Your life is more fulfilled and you can use your talents or skills to make a notable difference during your lifetime. Note: Your purpose is usually something that adds value to your life and the life of others. Fulfilling your purpose will give you and your loved ones a sense of pride and satisfaction.
How to discover your purpose;
Pay attention to what you dream about often, Usually stem from the talents and gifts you have been endowed with and is often an indication or inner signal of what your purpose may be such as cooking, writing stories, drawing etc.
- Think about those positive things you enjoy doing, even when you are tired.
- A problem within society that gets your attention, in which you may desire to make a positive impact in. E.g improving support for vulnerable people to make it easier for them to integrate within the community.
- Learn to say a prayer about your desires and fulfilling your purpose. Just as a good manufacturer wants his product to succeed and fulfil the purpose for which they were made, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom created everything and wants you to succeed by fulfilling the purpose for which you were created ‘The Lord will fulfil His purpose for me’ Psalm 138:8. As this biblical verse suggests, connecting to the creator ensures you can fulfil your purpose.
- Draw up an action plan outlining your vision and the goals you would love to achieve. ‘Write the vision and make it plain’ This should include possible options of how to achieve these goals. A coach or mentor may be a useful support at this stage.
- Most importantly, believe in yourself because the creator already placed within you everything you need to fulfil the goals and aspiration within you. Do not give up on your dreams because someone is actually waiting for you to make progress before they can begin to fulfil their own purpose. No pressure:).
