Overcoming Your Fears;

Fear is like an incubator or processor where negative thoughts or imaginations breed or develop to form its equivalent in the physical form – Similar to a photo processor or dark room where the negative image of a picture is developed to produce the authentic photo.

In other words, the negative thoughts and pictures you have formed in your mind due to your fears will be reproduced physically if you do not push to get rid of them.

You can find hope in the midst of fear!

Allowing an atmosphere of fear to persist, is the first trigger that invites trouble into your life, family or work. An atmosphere of fear will permit the reasons for which you are afraid to enter, fester and mature to the point of manifestation. Whereas, overcoming your fears will give you renewed confidence and improve your self-esteem.

How to address and overcome Fears;

  • Identify the reason for your fear and address it head on; Think about what it is you are afraid of and take action instead of burying your head in the sand (Such as resorting to alcohol or substance abuse). Often when we address the reason for our fear, we discover it is apparently not as bad as it seems. When you are not worrying or panicking so much, you are able to figure out what to do because your mind is at ease, you can pick up ‘positive frequencies’ as solutions which were always there but inaccessible to you when you are restless.
  • Most important is to commit your fears or concerns to prayer. Be humble enough to talk to God about your fears – Proud people find it difficult to pray because they feel they do not have to, whereas humble people will ask sincerely and get answers. As king David stated ‘I sought the Lord (in prayer), He answered me and delivered me from all my fears’ Psalm 34:4. Truly great people pray. Unfortunately, a lot of people end up dead or ‘wrecked’ because they refuse to address their fears positively but rather allow their anxieties to fester and grow into depression or panic attacks which can be fatal. The scriptures states further ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and with thanksgiving, let your request be made to God and the peace of God will guard your hearts’ Philippians 4:6 ‘. ‘Thanksgiving’ means confidence when you pray that you already have your answer – Try it!. Doing this will give you an immediate sense of peace and boost your self -esteem as you suddenly realize you can address your fears and find a solution. There is always a way out when you can pray.
  • Addressing the problem may also involve writing down some details to gain a clearer picture including looking at options of how to solve the problem and stop worrying so much about what may go wrong that has not happened yet. ‘Don’t worry about tomorrow, today’s trouble is enough’ Matthew 6:34. A study revealed that over 80% of what we are afraid of, never happens. And even when things seem to go wrong there is always a positive side when we keep a positive perspective.
  • Finally, keep a positive perspective and expect things to work out well, they often do. More importantly, you have a better chance of making things work when you are more positive than when you are not. Good luck xo
