The Power of your Emotion;

Emotions;

Emotions could be either sad (Negative) or happy (Positive).

Your emotions are magnetic forces that have the power to repel, or attract, positive or negative results into your life. Negative emotions produce negative outcomes while positive emotions produce positive and successful outcomes. To achieve continued success, you have to understand how to leverage on the principles of emotional success because principles never change.

What you do not have the power to attract, you do not have the power to retain, Knowing the right principles will give you the capacity to continue to attract the level of success you want’ S. Adeyemi

In other words, when your success happens by accident and you have no clue how you achieved this success, you are more likely to loose it as you will not know how to retain it.  The secret of achieving and retaining success is to understand how to align your emotions with the principles that guarantee success. It is said that “Knowledge is power” implying that lack of knowledge can be detrimental. The scripture puts it this way ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge’ Hosea 4:6

Your success or failure in most cases, is dependent on the action preceded by your emotion; Meaning, your emotional disposition will determine your actions.

For instance, when you have positive emotions or a cheerful disposition, you are healthier, innately stronger and more efficient because you tend to make better decisions ‘Joy does good like medicine, but sorrow dries up the bones’ Proverbs 17:22

Whereas, the opposite is the case when you predominantly nurture negative emotions; such as, sadness, bitterness, sorrow etc. You are snappy, grouchy, angry, depressed etc – This takes a toll on your mental wellbeing and will inevitably affect your health and level of productivity. Often times, the occurrences in your life are mostly a direct results of your thoughts / emotions and the actions that follow.

How to overcome Anxiety and Stress;

During these times of uncertainty it is easy to get anxious and stressed about future outcomes and way forward. Many are losing their means of livelihood and homes, not to mention the loss of loved ones.

 ‘Every dark cloud has a silver lining’.

Remember these words; ‘Every dark cloud has a silver lining’. This means no matter how bad the storms may appear, one should never feel hopeless because difficult times always precede better times if you persevere.

Keeping HOPE alive is the first step to overcoming anxiety and stress; Hope focuses on the future and not your present negative circumstance. Hope is compatible to faith, because faith nurtures hope and peace which always yield a good outcome. On the contrary, fear is incompatible to faith because it nurtures anxiety, stress and hopelessness.

The Power of your Thoughts;

Your thoughts are so powerful, you literally create what you are thinking. In other words, your dominant thoughts have the ability to create your reality.

Often we think thoughts are just some transient things that sweep through our mind, and mean nothing until physical action is taken. This is far from the truth. The truth is, action begins from the thoughts. Your thoughts create your imaginations and your imaginations create your life outcome.

‘As a man thinks in his heart, so is he’ Proverbs’ 28:7

As illustrated above, your desires or expectations first reflect in your thoughts and then create corresponding images. Once an image is formed and projected in your mind long enough, its planted in your heart and begins to grow. Then, sub-consciously and consciously you start to gravitate towards the physical equivalent of this image. This happens whether it is a positive image; i.e thinking intently of a nice vacation will get you preparing for one. Or you can plant and gravitate towards a negative thought, such as; criminal or perverse behaviour. Your thoughts are that powerful;

‘Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flow the springs of your life’ Proverbs 4:23.

Prideful vs Humble;

Someone asked the following question;

“What is the most effective way to relate with people? I feel that people who are arrogant or prideful seem to get on better than those who have a more humble disposition?”

Response;

God made life to work by principles and structures as most things do. When you breach the rules that guide these principles, either by act or omission, you will face the consequences. These principles from the scriptures teach that it is more rewarding to be humble than to be prideful or arrogant.

To be Prideful means to have an excessively high opinion of oneself and tend to place themselves above everyone else. It is being arrogant or overconfident in ones sense of self – worth. This usually occurs when someone feels they have worked really hard to get to where they are or personally pulled out all the stops to achieve what they have.

Being prideful or haughty is not the same as being confident.  Though similar, confidence is having a healthy self – esteem. Whereas, arrogance is the flip side of the same coin, where confidence in ones self or ability has gone too far and has become very prideful. This could be destructive.

Pride goes before destruction. Proverbs 16:18
